Housing and accommodation
Living in Camerino
Different accommodation options are available for PhD candidates in Camerino and at the other UNICAM locations. Availability, eligibility and application procedures depend on the type of accommodation and the relevant annual call.
Accommodation options
Two main institutional channels
01 · UNICAM ACCOMMODATION
UNICAM student residences
UNICAM manages accommodation in Camerino through its hospitality services. Places are assigned according to the procedures, eligibility requirements and availability established by the University.
Accommodation facilities may include single or double rooms and apartments with shared facilities. The available structures and conditions may change from one academic year to another.
02 · ERDIS RESIDENCES
Regional student accommodation
ERDIS Marche manages student residences and assigns accommodation through its annual calls according to eligibility requirements, rankings and available places.
The rules governing free or paid accommodation depend on the relevant ERDIS call. Always consult the current call before applying.
ERDIS scholarship
For eligible PhD candidates without a PhD scholarship
ERDIS publishes an annual call for study-support benefits. Where the eligibility requirements are met, the benefit may include a financial component and services such as accommodation and catering, according to the candidate’s status and the rules of the annual call.
Check every year
Eligibility criteria, economic requirements, deadlines, available accommodation and application procedures are established annually by ERDIS and may change.
International PhD candidates
Start looking for accommodation before you arrive
01
Plan early
Start checking housing options as soon as your admission and expected arrival date are known.
02
Check the conditions
Do not assume that admission to the PhD automatically gives entitlement to a university residence.
03
Wait for confirmation
Consider accommodation confirmed only after receiving formal confirmation from the organisation managing the residence.
UNICAM locations
Your research may not be based in Camerino
Most doctoral administrative activities are coordinated from Camerino, but PhD research may also be carried out at other UNICAM locations or partner institutions.
Accommodation availability differs between Camerino, Ascoli Piceno, Matelica and the other University locations. Check the location of your research group with your Programme Coordinator or supervisor before arranging long-term accommodation.
Alternative accommodation
Private housing
PhD candidates may also arrange accommodation independently on the private rental market. When considering a private room or apartment, check the duration of the contract, included expenses, deposit, utilities and the possibility of formally registering the lease where required.
The Advanced Studies Office does not act as a real-estate intermediary and cannot guarantee private accommodation offered by third parties.
Remember
Housing is separate from your PhD scholarship
Receiving a UNICAM PhD scholarship does not automatically include accommodation. Likewise, eligibility for accommodation or other ERDIS benefits is governed by the specific ERDIS rules and must be assessed separately.
