Complete the final examination procedure, prepare for the public defence and access the documents issued after the award of the doctoral degree.

Registration for the final examination
After completion of the external review, submit the application for admission to the final examination using the form provided by the SAS Office and attach the documents indicated in the procedure.

Examination schedule and official notice
The date, time, venue and examination arrangements are officially communicated to the candidate at least 20 days before the scheduled session.

Final examination committee
The committee is appointed by the Head of SAS upon proposal of the Faculty Board and the PhD Programme Coordinator. At least two-thirds of its members must be external to the administrative headquarters of the programme.

Public defence of the doctoral thesis
The final examination consists of the public discussion of the doctoral thesis. Prepare your presentation in accordance with the instructions communicated for the session and be ready to discuss the research methods, results and scientific contribution of your work.

Examination format and exceptional circumstances
The examination normally takes place in person. Different arrangements may apply when expressly authorized for international or associated PhD programmes. In the event of illness or documented force majeure, promptly contact SAS to request an alternative date.

Examination outcome and award of the degree
At the end of the examination, the committee prepares an official report and issues a collective written assessment. Upon successful completion of the examination, the doctoral degree is awarded by the University of Camerino.

Final thesis deposit and publication
The issue of the degree certificate is subject to the deposit of the final thesis in the institutional archive. The thesis is normally made publicly accessible, subject to any previously authorized embargo period.

Self-certification and degree certificates
After the degree has been recorded, you may download an available self-certification or request an official UNICAM certificate. A temporary certification may be issued while awaiting the original doctoral degree parchment.

Diploma Supplement
The Diploma Supplement describes the doctoral qualification, programme and activities completed. It may be requested from the SAS Office, allowing adequate time for preparation and issue.

Consult the instructions for collecting the original doctoral degree parchment or requesting shipment when collection in person is not possible.

Candidates interested in the Doctor Europaeus certification should verify the applicable requirements with their Supervisor, PhD Programme Coordinator and the SAS Office well before the thesis review and final examination are organized.
