Each PhD Programme establishes the timetable and methods for presenting and evaluating annual research and training results. Monitor communications from your Programme Coordinator and your institutional email account throughout the year.

01 · RESEARCH AND TRAINING

Research and training pathway

Your doctoral career combines the development of the research project with transversal and Programme-specific training. Activities should be consistent with the individual plan agreed with your Supervisor.

02 · ACTIVITY RECORD

Keep an updated record

Regularly record courses, seminars, examinations, publications, conferences, mobility periods, teaching activities and other relevant research outputs. Retain certificates and supporting documents.

03 · Annual progress report

Present the results of the year

At the end of each year, submit the report or other documentation requested by your PhD Programme.

04 · SUPERVISOR REVIEW

Supervisor’s preliminary review

Discuss the annual documentation with your Supervisor before submission. The Supervisor verifies the progress of the research, completion of the agreed activities and any issues that should be brought to the attention of the Programme Coordinator.

05 · ACADEMIC BOARD

Academic Board evaluation

The Academic Board evaluates the research and training activities completed during the year. The assessment determines whether you may continue to the following year or, at the end of the Programme, enter the thesis-review procedure.

06 · FOLLOWING YEAR

Admission to the following year

Following a positive annual evaluation by the Academic Board, complete enrolment for the following academic year through the Student Career portal and pay any contribution due within the deadline communicated by UNICAM.

07 · FINAL YEAR

Final-year evaluation

At the end of the final year, the Academic Board assesses completion of the doctoral pathway and decides on admission to the external review of the thesis.

08 · Funded positions and additional reporting

Check the obligations linked to your specific position

Scholarships financed through specific projects or agreements may require additional reports, timesheets, milestones, mobility periods, acknowledgements or declarations. Verify these obligations with your Supervisor and Programme Coordinator.

During the year

Communicate changes before they affect your career

Contact your Supervisor and Programme Coordinator promptly when an activity, employment relationship, mobility period or other circumstance may affect your research plan, attendance, scholarship or Programme deadlines.
